The high-altitude Everest Marathon is held on May 29 every year, celebrating the historical ascent of Mt. Everest by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary on that date in 1953.
The Everest Marathon starts at 5,364m from Mt. Everest Base Camp finishing at Namche Bazaar.
The 2024 marathon is the 19th edition of this magnificent event and will see runners from around the world converge on Mt. Everest to compete in the 70 km Extreme Ultramarathon, 42 km Full Marathon, and the 21 km Half Marathon.
